Default Many do not understand or want to know or face the reality of Morgellons Disease

Well understand too Sadsack that unlike us "lucky" ones people might have this disease and not even KNOW what it is. Or be too horrified at the possibility of having Morgellons Disease.

In the beginning I thought it was mites. I now know better. I had all the symptoms before I even knew what Morgellons was.

I too hope more come forward. Even though we all have a scary disease there is hope. Lots of good people and many simple things which DO help provide relief.

I don't know much but I am an ear who is willing to listen to anybody that needs someone to talk to. That may not be much but sometimes that can mean alot in itself.

I post information when I find it. I do know that Joni Mitchell had an article in Billboard Magazine about her having Morgellons Disease. If anybody wants me to post this article about her I would be more than happy to do so.

Well, still awaiting results from CDC. But this was in today's M & M report:

REPORTS Nonfatal Fall-Related Injuries Associated with Dogs and Cats
United States, 2001--2006

Thank God for the CDC, huh....??? They are really on top of it.

Acute ataxia in a 4-year-old boy: a case of Lyme d...[Am J Emerg Med. 2008] - PubMed Result
We present a case of a 4-year-old who presented to the emergency department with an unsteady gait for 2 days. Ataxia is a rare but known manifestation of cerebellar involvement in .

Ataxia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Doctors can evidence this during physical examination by having the patient stand with his / her feet together and eyes shut, which will cause the patient's instability to markedly worsen, producing wide oscillations and possibly a fall (this is called a positive Romberg's test).

-------------------------------------------------------------------

It's not good to assume something negative without fact. The CDC has been studying many animals all over the US (wild and domestic) and finding new strains of Lyme unique to each geographical location. Many believe in a Lyme/morgellons connection.

More and more dogs and cats are sick with Lyme ( my daughter used to work for a Vet who confirmed more Lyme with our pets than ever before )

My neurologist reports a positive Romberg test with me. I am subject to falls from ataxia. I had fallen for unexplained reasons in my past before I saw the neurologist and always thought I was just "clumsy". Now I know there is this spirochete infection process as a cause for ataxia.

What I am trying to say is in a roundabout way, the study regarding falls on dogs and cats CAN be tied into the Lyme epidemic which is shared with humans.

It's best for all of us to remain positive and informed and try to refrain from negative thinking.
(positive thoughts are more healing).

Good Lord....6 degrees of separation....

WHERE ARE THE RESULTS OF THE MORGELLONS RESEARCH?

Keeping statistics on tripping over your cats has nothing to do with Lyme or Morgellons.

Write them a thank you note for their diligence in turning over every stone to get to the truth.

March 26 /PRNewswire

Pet owners need to understand the severity of diseases such as leishmaniosis, babesiosis, ehrlichiosis, hepatozoonosis and Lyme disease, and do what they can to treat and prevent them."

The experts cite climate change as one of the main contributors to the heightened incidence and global spread of existing diseases, as well as the appearance of new ones from parasites not previously found in parts of the US, Europe, or Asia.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Ataxia has lots to do with Lyme disease and the neuro problems also involved with morgellons.

I with others are also anxiously awaiting the CDC results.

Personally, I am trying to remain hopeful about it. I'm not going to worry UNTIL and IF they put something out I need to worry about.

If the report is Bull Crap, then I'll be sending even more letters EVERYWHERE and to EVERYONE.

Default Naked Science Last Night

Odd how you should mention climate.

Last night on Naked Science on Discover Channel they talked all about climate and virus. I can't exactly remember the virus name, coxly or something, but it was the one which wiped out so many Aztecs (millions), and this happened 2 times. Both times there was a severe drought and then the rains came. This had something to do with awakening the virus and also mutation. Had the story of the Hanta virus too as well as all the things they are finding at the bottom of oceans. I can't explain it of course, but it was interesting yet frightening.

It made me think of how we had about 4-5 extraordinary mild winters and now they're not. Heck, one year the golf courses were open in December and I live on the Midwestern U.S.

Default Brandi Koch

In answer to Seasprite about Koch (baseball player), here is Koch's wife, Brandi, with a more recent update about herself (she also has Morgellons). There is also an article about Morgellons just above this, which discusses some organisms which are being considered as part of this complex of symptoms. Don't think there is anything new though. Some other interesting comments on this page include those made by Amelia Withington, M.D. who appears to have joined us here today (in fact that is how I found this comment from Brandi along with the article as I wondered who this new member was). Dr. Withington is scheduled to speak at the second Morgellons conference. In case she is reading this I would like to say hello and welcome to MDR:

Does this identification mean anything? I do not know Morgellons - A Mundane Approach

Wow… This is the first thing I have read in a long time that sounds… dare I say, right!? It’s pure craziness out there within the Morgellon’s “community”. The people (me, being ‘one of them’), the theories, the researchers… It’s enough to turn anyone who normally exhibits ‘common sense’ into a cynical, mistrusting fool.
Anyway, I am a bit concerned about the ‘Lyme’ disease/connection comment being that I have been on antibiotics to treat my so called ‘Lyme’s disease’ for more than 3 years now. Of course, I have taken many breaks from any and all meds… but, it’s just so damn scary how ‘up in the air’ everything feels right now. Having kids who I love more than life itself, & even more than MYSELF… well, that makes it that much scarier, disheartening…
This sounds extremely SENSIBLE, & promising & I am looking forward to reading on.
In regards to the “jeering & cheering”… As I said, things have been extremely confusing for many of us trying to seperate fact from fiction. Living in a fearful state for SO LONG makes thinking clearly & rationally all the more challenging. However, if I have wrongfully judged, mistrusted, spoke wrongly of anyone underseving- I’m sorry… Actually, I’m sorry for any ill word that I have ever spoken about anyone simply trying to survive this madness called “Morgellons”-whether thay are sufferers, researchers, docotrs, advocates.
Many prayers to everyone fighting this fight. It’s a the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. When it’s all said and done… in one way or another… I hope to come out of it with my mind, a good heart, & humility… with that said, again-sorry, & thank you for this article."

I'm sorry to be so pessimistic, but everything is pointing in that direction and adding up.

Just saw this in going through the thread SS...I've said the same thing. You know that both Powell and Rumsfeld have said (Rumsfeld twice) that Obama will be facing a major terroristic situation (Rumsfeld said if he didn't toughen up, and Powell said he WOULD be)....which tells me they know something we or Obama don't know. Just a hunch. So....yes, this could very well be it. Already it has superceded Aids in numbers (I've read) and I'm sure there are many cases yet to be reported. With the top-notch ? people who are at the disposal of the govt. I can't imagine why this should be taking so long.

I'd like to interject something here you may or may not find of importance (I did)...I remember reading years ago how someone picked up a pretty bad disease by using loofah sponges in the bath. Seems pathogenic organisms which were in the sponge were dried out along with but once in the moist environment of the shower, they were 'awakened'

Climate change/melting ice caps. I have read that they are finding new bacteria/viruses. This is definately something worth looking into.

Maybe on the Discovery Channel Website, we can find the name of the virus they were talking about or the NAKED SCIENCE episode. I'll go look!
